Sorry for the long absence. I have been busy!
Share Fair at school, and planning for the new students that joined our class. (I teach a class at our parent partnership, twice a week). Teaching my own kids... an emphasis on electricity right now, as well as keeping Jenson supplied with books to read. (Yes, my so-called 'reluctant reader' - turns out, receiving candy after each completed chapter book is a huge motivator. I'm am sold.)
Also busy taking my husband to the aiport at 3am, and picking him up a few days later at midnight. Refilling our bird feeders often, making semi-nutritous meals, returning books to the library before the fines acrue (novel idea!), and teaching the little one to read Hop on Pop. Then, filling the dishwasher, emptying the dishwasher, washing a kid's hair, drying a kid's hair, taking the cat to the vet, taking the car to the shop, taking the suits to the dry cleaner, picking up the cat, the car, the suits. Going to a museum. Writing my state representatives, going to soccer, going to Awana. The usual stuff, you all know how it goes. Throw in a handful of migraines, and there you go. :)
As far as the proposed budget cut - our voices were heard, and it was removed from the proposal! Whew. Thank you for calling, writing, and praying, it all helped the cause!

It's so important to draw attention to reading, and attract reluctant readers to it,especially boys. In fact, I've recently completed a feature magazine article on this subject that came out in October, "Help for Struggling, Reluctant Readers."
I grew up as a reluctant reader, in spite of the fact that my father published over 70 books. Now I write action-adventures & mysteries, especially for tween boys, that avid boy readers and girls enjoy just as much.
My blog, Books for Boys http://booksandboys.blogspot.com is dedicated to drawing attention to the importance of reading. And my new book, Lost Island Smugglers - first in the Sam Cooper Adventure Series - is coming out in June.
Keep up your good work.

PS. My first 7 books are going to be republished by Comfort Publishing later in 2010

Isn't life crazy!? I just constantly remind myself how much I'm going to hate a quiet house someday.
